Horseshoe Bats in the Forest of Dean

Horseshoe bats are two of the four species of bat that receive extra special protection. They are rare and have been designated such that our national organizations have to designate areas where they receive special action. The forest of dean and wy valley is one at one such area, called a special area of conservation. Our public bodies aren't allowed to do anything, or to authorize anything, unless they can be sure it won't affect the bats.
