Liz and Shaddy: How do these Bernie Sanders circles handle people with deep faith that don't quite fit? LZ: It's certainly not as alienating to me as conservative politics, which are oftentimes more characterized by religion but just fall out tremendously differently on those issues around welfare politics. In conservative circles, there is going to be more alignment on certain first principles. Do you feel, how much does that matter or not matter? Liz: We sort of look at things the wrong way when we presume that people sort politically based on their religious identities.
