"I was still very shameful about it. I mean, this was the secret like for years and years," she says. "It wasn't until I worked with my own therapist, who was so great that finally I was able to realize, okay, this is actually just part of who I am." A lot of people talk about, especially within the context of the church, it's okay to be gay, but just don't act on it,. But being queer is about more than who you want to have sex with. There's so much more to it than that that permeates every part of your being.
