How Do We Love Someone With Active Addiction?
When i was 20, i was in a pretty toxic relationship with the 23 year old guy. When our relationship was still new, he injured his back on a construction job and was prescribed pain killers. He roped me into dropping him off in a parking lot to pick up drugs, and then iallowed him to do those drugs at my house. I feel like an enabler for allowing those things to happen. But i'm also trying not to be judge mental over some one who is struggling. We can detach from somebody without judging them. And that's a really, really important tool if you are co dependent or enmeshed by addiction.
