Since the getgo, there has been a perennial concern with who can have guns. The term gun control only really starts to be used in the mid 19 fifties. Gun control is not a given, naturalized term of american politics. It never has been. This goes back all eagan. You can go through the antibellum era. And it becomes very, very clear that what is anathema to elits, but also to,. like, the majori tariin power structure, is the idea of basely bad guys getting guns.
