In Isaiah 56, the Lord reassures every eunuch that I will give you a place and a name that is better than sons and daughters. The Lord knows that these eunuchs do not fit the mold but He more than makes it up for them as they valiantly try to observe their covenants by sacrifice. If you're in the majority and if you fit the mold then that proclamation smiles down upon your happy home life. But if you don't fit that mold then the proclamation can feel like a club beating you into the recognition that you'll never fit in to God's expectations. Your reality falls infinitely low short of the divine ideal that God has established for us.
