Savory's TED Talk on Desertification
Sabery's story of how he participated in slaughtering all those elephants, trying to stop desertification is pretty powerful. There's a TED talk by him on this and I think his TED talk was canceled or that was like a warning by the TED people that this talk will give you bad feelings and bad thoughts and you shouldn't listen to it. It's pretty inspiring because you think basically he says deserts are man-made. Deserts have been man-made through many centuries and millennia of agriculture. And so what Savory argues, which drives the fiatters insane, is that when you start grazing cattle on the land, the land becomes richer and then the land can absorb more water.
