Reevaluating DEI and Academic Freedom

This chapter examines the backlash against diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives in light of corporate decisions and societal fatigue with DEI rhetoric. It critiques the portrayal of race in elite discourse versus daily worker experiences and raises concerns about socioeconomic disparities overshadowing racial issues. The chapter also discusses the controversial case of Scott Atlas during the COVID-19 pandemic, addressing academic censorship and the implications for free speech and academic integrity in the current political landscape.
