There are two main camps for these. There's the camp that says don't ever do it. And there's theCamp that says you have to do it. I'm per usual more in the middle. The greatest benefit of something like an ice bath is the mental benefit of doing something really, really hard in every day. Something that you definitely do not want to do. It doesn't mean you're willing to face your fear of going into a martial arts class or trying out a new sport. So just because you get easier and easier with each task isn't necessarily means they'll be as effective at building muscle.
