The Importance of Hardcore Short Stories
I think upon rewatching the trilogy I am just really stuck on the question of why. Good fantasy adaptations are so hard to do and why we really haven't seen anything on that caliber since the early 2000s like as you said CGI should have only gotten better budgets have gotten larger like filmmaking should have progressed. Instead we have a very and we have the last season of Game of Thrones and we have like an infinite number of terrible white fantasy adaptations that are box office bombs. Lord of the Rings hits that magic and it's sort of middle point in the sense that it has it's pre-existing IP and it but it had also has this crazy amount of lore so you can get that.
