Some believed that jane was impregnated by the devil himself. They moved into the swamp and lived in the cabin with their 12 children, rare to have that many children survive in the 17 hundreds. And soon another child was on the way, the dreaded number 13. Rumors had spread that she was a witch, and they called her mother leeds When she found out she was pregnant, she cursed the unborn child. One night as she knelt down beside bed to say her daily prayers, she asked god for a favor. She begged him to make her thirteenth child a devil. So on one freezing night in february, a snowstorm swept through the area.
