The Lord's Supper Is Not a Feast
The apostle paul articulates the same ment in a passage that's just as memorable, though admittedly far less funky. If the dead are not raised, let us eat and drink, for to morrow we die. So there is a way in which partying to escape is the very opposite of a christian feast. The escapest parties to escape what time is wants to forget what time it is. This is feasting conceived of as t g if or working for the week end. It's a kind of sham that is summed up beautifully by the philosopher and theologian prince in his hit 19 99.
