The three members of the group emerge. Milton gale strides up to crawford and grabs his shoulders. Fred morrer doesn't say a word, just shakes crawford's hand firmly. Ada blackjack smiles at crawford shyly. He nods at her and smiles back. It doesn't feel real that he won't see them for months. They're the only people he's seen in over a year. How can he be leaving them? Night takes the reins and yells out to the dogs, hike. The dogs howl and march forward. Vic the cat cleans herself at black jack's feet. She focuses intently on each stitch, ignoring the gnawing pain in her stomach
