Are We Asking God to Give Up Something?

Near death experiences have a, are very much scientifically explained. If i myself had one, i would think it would be a very poor reason to believe in god with everything that i know right now about a nerow science. But when it comes to god, it's not like we are asking god to give up something or lose something from us asking him. I feel like if that is really the belief, then it shouldn't be too much to ask god to try and to show to me that he is indeed the one that people tell me he is.
