David Frum: Automation theorists think jobs are disappearing because technology is accelerating. He says his argument is that the economy is slow down more and more, so there's a tendential stagnation of the economy. And as it's happened, nothing has replaced industry as a growth engine, he says.Frum: We live in an era where there's just so many more countries that have tried to industrialize. They're all competing for tiny slivers of this massive global supply chains.

Paris Marx is joined by Aaron Benanav to discuss why jobs are getting worse because the economy’s slowing down, not because technology is speeding up, and why that requires a vision of post-scarcity centered around human relationships instead of technological change.
