With tech increasing, we'll move closer and closer to Neil Stevenson's metaverse in Snow Crash. You have some device where you just dropped into a VR world where you have full control over everything. And it's like fully immersive VR. Have you read Ready Player One? No, but I know what it's about. Similar idea, right, where you put on this headgear and then you're in this other world and you're walking around and moving around in it as you would in the real world.

In this episode of Made You Think, we discussed “The Sovereign Individual,” a book published in 1996 predicting how the Internet would change our lives and work over the following decades. Some of it’s come true, some of it is yet to come, but no book has made either of us think so much about how technology might destroy what we think of as citizenship, work, travel, community, and life.
