I remember it being a revenge story but on the last few it was kind of more nuanced than just I'm gonna take as many down with me as I can. He reveals that he already confronted the three leaders of the clan that basically were the ones that forced his son in law to do the Harakiri and he we get these flashbacks where he fought with them but he didn't kill them instead he basically just took that top knots which is this really clear sign of disgrace for the samurai like they also say in the movie it's better for a samurai to be killed in battle than to lose his top knot like that yeah.
