The Modern Welfare State Metrics of Individual Health

The modern welfare state measures and quantifies metrics of individual health against a picture of individuals economic resources and labor power in order to restrict the administration of aid. If the economy of health is to be bled for excess profit, then the fundamentally inefficient process of facilitating our mutual survival must be made to be efficient. When we see systems that are very particular about quantifying your relationship to work so that they can minimize the amount of aid that you get, but in a way that's enough to keep you working or keep you connected to the economy... I would love to hear also more about where this line of thinking ends up taking us with regards to the surplus.
