Currently, the united states produces about 100 thousand magawats of nuclear generated electricity annually. That's almost 20 % of the national electricity need. But this number has been declining since two thousand according to the us Energy information association. We spoke with David keith of harvard university to get a better understanding of why nuclear energy is not being prioritized in the effort to de bonize and whether it should be.
