Is It Unusual?
The way that biological organisms get designed is not by a process of kind of people thinking about the design, at least not yet. It's more a process of biological evolution, where random changes get made. And if one form of the organism is more successful than another, and has more progeny, more children than the other then it will be the one that wins out.
