The Telecommunications Act in 1996 created this corporate monopolization of our media so that now the news industry is a profit-making industry. You've probably seen that example where they basically show like 20 or 30 TV stations all with the exact same story and the same narrative. And it's just reading from a sheet that corporate tells them to read from. This is also the cause I think of income inequality. It was bad policy that brought us to where we are and good policy will take us back to where we need to be.
