The Birth of a Judge

There's not a single judge who seems to be active in all of the territory of, you know, what will eventually become Israel. The refrain that keeps coming throughout the book of judges is, well, there was no king in those days. So everyone just did what they wanted. Sort of this lament that the whole nation was in trouble because we didn't have a king.
