Even the most seemingly realistic of fictions always has this fantastic element. The thing that I found really productive in that exchange was the idea that it's almost like a practice you can engage in. Notice moments of good timing and be on the lookout for what are the material conditions that allowed that good moment of timing to happen. And then you will quickly realize that all fiction, at least fiction that communicates on an emotional level that means something to you is actually profoundly strange.
