The best strategy for me is to avoid big parts of life in general, because then I don't have to worry about the compulsions. The other big problem with OCD is that oftentimes this whole cycle leads to a lot of shame. In terms of psychotherapy for OCD, I think it's really important because the skills that we teach are the most generalizable to the rest of the population.
