The Beer Before Bred Hypothesis
One of the ways in which alcohal's connected with civilization is this beer. So a hunter gatherers were coming together and making beer thousands of years before we had agriculture. And so the argument is that it's that whatever the pacalries, the high, the triggering and the reward circuits is is what lured hunter gathers into settled agricultural life. In that sense, ito drive to get intoxicated directly led to civilization.
