Brian arrived at the police station four days after Qian's murder. He was asked about his attendance at York and why he still lived in student accommodation. The conversation then turned to Qian, and Brian was asked to speak about his interactions with her. In a very quiet tone, almost so quiet that you can't hear him, Brian said that he stopped in to Qian's room and chatted with her about cooking.
