The New Reality of the Bridegroom's Feast

With the presence of Jesus we don't have to fast as a preparation repentance for judgment it's this picture of the wedding guests abstaining from the feast while the bride groom is with them that would be inappropriate. The point of fasting is not the technicalities of it the point is leaning in to the lack which is so hard for us to do in a community like ours that is characterized by abundance. disciples of Jesus must recognize our emptiness in order to be newly filled with the power of Christ in the gospel.
