The Y Chromosome in Modern Humans

In 2013, some researchers found a very rare Y chromosome or variant in modern humans. This pushed the age of our most recent common ancestor all the way back to around 210,000 years ago. Eight billion people from Earth right now can be traced back to one person within the last 2000 years. That's more people than have ever existed in less than 250 years.
