How to Bring People Along to See the Future of Business

I think the first thing is you have to create a way for them to see themselves in that future. You really need to make people feel that they have a place in this future. I've developed something I call the innovation proficiency scale, which is kind of looking at from very early stages where it's like innovation, what innovation? What are you talking about? And different companies are at different places in that scale. The biggest missing link in my experience is the innovation governance process. Very few companies have what I call a really robust way of managing innovation and other things that are important.
