The Ghost That Was Having Sex With Anna and Col Smith

The protagonist is in the park in a makeshift shelter. There doesn't appear to be anybody around so she creeps out. She heads down the empty streets to an ace hardware store. But they have stopped with food supplies instead of seasonal items. They both look up and there is a brief moment of eye contact, but it cuts off in a gargle as their face changes to the Swedish chef and then to a King Kong mask.
