The Importance of Material Science in Silicon Valley

A major in material science fell in love with it, had the opportunity to get three degrees here then go to Europe on a NATO post-doc fellowship. When I came back to teaching and this was 1965 now to 74, something else was happening here and that was Silicon Valley being created. He did quite a bit of consulting and met a lot of people in the industry before he ended up at Intel for 35 years.
