What Would Resource Depletion Look Like?
Resource depletion is a function of price. We will find, with natural gas prices as high as they are, we have more gas than we ever dared believe we have. The malthusian argument is an argument against technology. As the price of mineral commodities goes up, and our ability to use things like deep penetrating radar, an satellite imagery to look at arid areas that are unpopulated, we will find more resources - but we need to spend the money to look for them.
