The Soviet Union and the Ottoman Empire - It Did Not Work
When you've got a one-party state, conflict has to occur behind the scenes. It's not possible to have open descent in a one- party state without potentially leading to a state possibly leading to a split in the party. In a one-Party state, descent is driven underground, it's not openly expressed, which means all of the sudden it can explode in your face. That level of rigidity politically is not compatible with any kind of success in the long term. So, there was a lot of suffering and the stuff that was tried during the period did not work. The Soviet Union collapsed and when it collapsed, that produced another set of weak states easy to mess with and
