The Arguments Against ORMs

As an ORM creator and just like a user of them too, what are some arguments against ORMs that you've commonly heard? Yeah, sure. I think that, well, and I'm going to insert my bias into these answers obviously because I'm kind of an ORM ologist. One is that if you're doing one-to-one mapping as opposed to two-to-two or three-to-three then it's not really the same thing at all. That's where we get this whole "ORM versus relational mismatch" problem comes from. And another was when people were trying to work with legacy database schemas in 2000s Java.
