Refineries typically don't make a lot of money, at least historically. And it's because of those thin profit margins that we've actually lost a lot of refineries here in america. We're down to half of what we used to have in the 19 eighties and even lower on the east coast. What we do have left, well, those facilities are running at their max capacity. Now it's possible that if american companies built new refineries, we might be in a better position to lower those gas and desil prices with more production.
