Clifford: Ketamine has a sympathetic effect on hemodynamics that's lost in patients who already maximally, you know, sympathetically stimulated. He says the opposite effect is true - it turns off that hyperdrive and the vitals come down. The more we used ketamine prehospital over time, he started to see some of the EDs keep them on ketamine until they got up into the OR. But for a long time, it was right onto propofol.
