The Difference Between Principal Component Analysis and the Common Factor Model
In the composite variable system that is PLS, it's not going to be principal component analysis. The common factor model is believed to have given rise to the set of items. And I find it kind of attractive in the ghost of hoteling. That is a very similar distinction between principal components analysis and the common factor model.
