The Essence Existence Composition
Aquinas: Essay is the act of all acts. There's nothing more fundamental than essay, because once you go beyond essay, the act of existence, you're into nothingness. A substance being an existing thing has to have an act ofexistence, which actuates its essence. This Aquinas holds is what Aristotle missed out in his metaphysics of substance. He missed out on the act of existance. So he establishes that it's a conceptual truth about pure existence itself. And we don't even know if it exists yet.
