I have a lot of faith in human creativity. I've spent a lot of time in Silicon Valley when I've been out at Stanford. There's ex-million cab drivers. If they get put out of work by this technology, what are they going to do? It was a really serious question. An economist can't tell you what to do about that. Nobody wants an economist who doesn't have an answer. That's the seductive aspect of our field that's I think dangerous. Economists tend to become a little more confident than that.
