Is the NFL Going to Change the Reality of Concussion?
I think that the whole act of watching football requires a level of cognitive dissonance that is now sort of baked into the audience. There's always, you know, one or two very terrible injuries, per season, if not more. The concussion studies are incredibly troubling but I don't think that there is any correspondence between the increase of information we have and the audience being eroded by this. You know, I do hear from people who say they have turned away from the sport, but they're certainly not doing it in any kind of volume that makes the NFL reconsider what they're doing.
