The Crisis in the Automobile Industry

In 1953, only five firms were recognized by the government as manufacturers. Tata Engineering and Locomotive Company, Otelko, was registered in 1945. The automobile division of Telco started functioning in 1954. They walked out of a collaboration with Daimler Bins of West German for manufacture of 3-5 ton diesel commercial vehicles. In 1965, MINDRA and MINDRA introduced a one-ton payload truck which was called FC-150. But there was another crisis on the wing.
