Lucas Morel: William Lloyd Garrison was the most famous abolitionist in the United States, if not the world. He says Garrison believed that you could only produce moral reform through the use of words and speaking and writing them. And so by publishing his paper, The Liberator, Garrison was trying to affect a change in public opinion with regards to slavery in the U.S., he says.
