Durlmanger Brigitte was sent back to Poland during the Second World War. He and his men fought in Belarus as part of a German offensive against Moscow. Durlmanger's brutality stunned many soldiers he fought alongside, including an 18-year-old sapper named Shank who later wrote about what he saw on execution grounds.
