CHAPTER

The Importance of Quitting Your Job

Morgan: I believe based on my own experimental data and on a big body of psychology and behavioral economics that people have a bias against quitting. My view is that people know better than anyone else what's right for them. If you are actively debating quitting your job, it means that you can see another path that is about as good as staying with your job. And in that case, you should probably quit. But look, what I'm not saying is if you have a job you hate, you should quit it. Because really, you shouldn't quit the job you hate. Quitting is all about options. And privilege and luxury comes with greater options.
