CSS Sprites: A Trend?

Number 12 is basically a call to use more colors. It's directed towards those of you out there that are producing brand manuals rather than design it. The most types of images people use on websites are photos. I'd actually like to see CSS sprites as a trend. Because even that's been around now for a few years and we're seeing it used an awful lot.
