The Samaritan Woman and Roman Manhood

For Tertullian, there's a real suspicion of sexuality and women clearly are temptresses who are going to lead the faithful man away from God through sex. So for Chertullian, like a lot of stoic thinkers as well, is that okay? Can a man have sex and still be manly? There was a tension there. But that tension also existed in a reality in which freeborn Roman men had quite a lot of sexual freedom and freedom over their own households.
