CHAPTER

The Ainur Lidale

In Tolkien's mythology, evil introduces itself into the very act of creation. This is what you point out in the opening of the Silmarillion. But there is a higher purpose behind that pain and suffering. The world is a story. Like God has a history of redemption, a narrative of redemption that he's telling.
