The State of Our Politics

In a sense, we are victims of our own success. Over the last five thousand years, human civilization has evolved so much that people born to day cannot appreciate how much evolution has happened. And they take government totally for granted because it is in such an evolved state and it works so well most of the time. In these places, for the most part, you can go about your life and live freely doing a lot of stuff without ever thinking about politics or the government. So it's very easy to not see what government is doing for you.
