The Beauty of Stand Up Comedy
The best sort of humor is self deprecating humor, and that, and reveal. Showing a part of yourself that you're not particularly proud of or being willing to share your weakness with people,. then you can hit them with something that's a little more serious. I was thinking about the body and society in my new book called The Body and Society. In it, he talks about how monks became this these intercessors between peasantry and royalty because they were outside of the system. And if comedians don't kind of serve that role now that they can only the monk, I wonder if, if humor doesn't serve that function as well.
