Open Source - What's the Process?
The process of opening up Google to the open source community was surprisingly simple, at least in retrospect. There are lots of scary requirements but once you talk to the people who will make the decision, whether you can open source something or not, it's not that bad. Once they approve that, okay, yes, you can move ahead, then actual engineering will start and that can get very time consuming. But if this was like snapping a finger and we could release libraries like that, we would be releasing a lot more.
